2) Ashokan Pillar

As the name suggests this pillar was erected by Ashoka and stands tall at a height of 50 metres. Adorning the top is the national emblem of India and the entire pillar is carved out elegantly in a rock making it a pretty remarkable experience.

3) Thai Temple

This is probably one of the most popular Tourist Attraction in Sarnath and clearly represents the Thai style of architecture. The temple is extremely scenic and surrounded by green gardens and statues along some amazing peace and calm. You will also see Buddhist monks offering their prayers and going about with their daily rituals here.

4) Tibetan Buddhist Temple

Decorated lavishly with Thangka i.e. fragile and delicate Buddhist paintings this temple is a place where you can feel closer to god. The idol within the temple is that of Shakyamuni – a form of Buddha. The temple premise also contains prayer wheels with papers of prayer inside them.

5) Archeological Museum

Established in the year 1910 this temple represents a diverse range of important historical artefacts. Covering the 3rd till the 12th century AD the museum is of great importance and value to the Indian culture and traditions and gives us a small Peak into what it was before.
