North Sikkim Tour Itinerary Package
Day 1 :Arrival at Gangtok
Upon your arrival at the NJP Railway Station or IXB Airport, our team representative will escort you and take you towards Gangtok which is around 135 Kilometers away from there. This beautiful city is elevated at an altitude of 1670 meters above sea level. This beautiful hill station is known for its tranquil and serene ambiance and also for celebrating festivals in a grand way, some unique and interesting rituals, adventure, and monasteries. Check-in at the hotel upon your arrival in the city and if your body allows you then go for a short shopping trip or for a walk around the city.
Day 2 :Excursion to Baba Mandir and Tsomgo Lake
After the delicious morning meal, drive towards the city to explore the ancient Baba Mandir and the high-altitude lake Tsomgo Lake. This oval shaped glacial lake is spread over an area of 1 km long and around 50 feet deep. However, the region is heavily covered with snow for the most part of the year but it is a habitat of many migratory birds and also of Brahmini Ducks. Nearby this placid lake there is a temple located along its banks. This is the holy abode dedicated to Lord Shiva. Later on, drive towards the other sightseeing of the day at Baba Mandir which is named after Baba Harbhajan Singh who was an army man and devoted his life for the nation.
Later on, move towards the Nathu La Pass which is located around 20 km away and can be considered as an optional tour. After the completion of the day tour return back to the hotel for the dinner and the overnight stay.
Day 3 :Gangtok – Lachen
Early morning post breakfast, drive towards Lachen which is around 135 kilometers away from there and requires 5-6 hours of driving to cover the distance. There is a stopover established at Chungthang to make your journey less tiring and more comfortable. Tourists stop here at Chungthang to relax and to take the afternoon meal of the day. Post lunch starts driving towards the northern part of Sikkim Lachen which is known for its untouched and unexplained scenic beauty. Thangu, Chopta Valley, and Shingba Wildlife Sanctuary are some of the most tourist destinations in the city. Return to the hotel by evening, enjoy dinner and then stay there overnight.
Day 4 :Excursion to Gurudongmar Lake and drive towards Lachung
Post breakfast set out for the first sightseeing destination at Gurudongmar Lake which is around 55 km away from the beautiful city of Lachen. This drive to Lachen from Gangtok is full of adventures. Being nestled at an elevation of 11,800 feet the lake experiences the first rays of the sun which makes it an exciting view. However, due to the high altitude location, the lake is frozen from December to April but still, a part of the lake remains in liquid form throughout the year. After the Gurudongmar Lake excursion drives back to the hotel for the lunch and enjoy the spectacular views of the rhododendron forest of Chopta Valley.
Drive for the next destination of the day to Lachung which is approx. 50 km away from there. This beautiful town is considered as the gateway to Yumthang Valley and is famous for its amazing charm and beauty. Return to the hotel after the day tour and take a healthy meal.
Day 5 :Sightseeing at Yumthang Valley and Gangtok Arrival
Post breakfast at the hotel start driving towards Yumthang Valley which is situated at a great height of 11,800 feet. On the way to Yumthang Valley, you will come across the hot spring which is known for its medicinal values. The valley is situated around the river Lachung Chu and is also known for its towering snow-capped mountain peaks. If you visit this valley during spring season then you will be mesmerized with the scenic vista of the environment. Go for sightseeing to the rhododendron forests, alpine flowers, and the other orchids.
Come back to the hotel at Lachung for lunch and then drive to Gangtok. On reaching Gangtok, you will be taken to the hotel. Make yourself feel comfortable by relaxing in the hotel or you can also go out to witness the nightlife beauty of Gangtok.
Day 6 :Journey to Home
Next morning post breakfast return to the hotel for the further journey. Set out for the journey to home from NJP Railway Station, IXB Airport, or the bus stand. Our team representative bids adieu for your journey way back home.
