Konark Sun Temple Tour Package

On reaching Bhubaneshwar airport/railway station you’ll be greeted by our tour representative who then escorts you to your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.

Today we’ll go around the city of Bhubaneshwar, exploring some of its prime attractions. Bhubaneshwar, the capital city of Orissa is one of the fastest growing cities and is also one among the other two places forming the ‘Golden Triangle’ or ‘Swarna Tribhuja’. The places we’ll visit during this city tour include Parasurameswara Temple (a temple of Lord Shiva dating back to 650 AD), Lingaraj Temple (a highly ornate Lord Shiva temple dating back to the 11th century & exhibiting the finest specimen of Hindu Temple architecture) and Dhaulia Complex (a hill that stood witness to the gory warfare of Kalinga after Emperor Ashoka, struck by remorse changed his blood-thirsty ways and submitted to Buddhism). At the end of the city tour, we return to hotel for dinner and night stay.

Next day we proceed to visit the ‘diamond triangle’ or ‘Buddhist Triangle’ of Orissa consisting in the three sites; namely Udayagiri, Khandagiri, Lalitgiri. These are places that beautifully uphold the Buddhist heritage of the state and are excavation sites that have brought to limelight a vast array of interesting archaeological remains. Each of these hillocks are strewn with Buddhism related statues, stone tablets, monasteries, stupas, seals, relics and more. These are the perfect places for heritage lovers. Post visit, we return to hotel for dinner and night stay.

Next day post breakfast, we hit the road for Puri, another important tourist destination of Orissa. Puri is a holy city consisting in the famous Jagannath Temple; one of the Chardhams of the All-India Chardham pilgrimage circuit. The city is a beach city dotted with several other temples, Maths, ashrams, architectural marvels etc. On reaching check into hotel for dinner and night stay.

Today we’ll set out to explore the top attractions of Puri, namely Jagannath Temple (12th century old temple with the idols of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra enshrined here), Markandeshwara Temple (a 13th century old Lord Shiva shrine, located in vicinity to Bindu Sagar) and the Lokanatha Temple (11th century old Lord Shiva temple with a Shiva Lingam that stays immersed in water all the time). Post sightseeing, we return to hotel. In the evening, you could take a stroll on Puri beach and Swargadwar Beach and refresh yourself with the soothing breeze that blows all the time. Dinner and overnight stay in hotel.

Today we will return to Bhubaneshwar and en route we’ll visit the wondrous Konark Sun Temple; a temple of global fame. This magnificent temple is shaped like the chariot of the temple deity; Surya Dev or Sun God. The temple came into being in the 13th century under the initiative of the ruler of Ganga Dynasty, Kind Narasimhadeva I. Artistic finesse and engineering adeptness blend beautifully in the temple architecture to make it stand out as one of the finest specimens of Orissa temple architecture. After visit to Konark temple, we head to our pre-booked hotel at Bhubaneshwar and retire for dinner and night stay.

The tour ends today. You’ll be dropped at Bhubaneshwar airport/railway station where our representative sees you off and you proceed for your onward journey back home with lots of happy memories of the tour.
