Gujarat Heritage Tour Package

Upon your arrival at Ahmedabad Airport/Railway station, you’ll be greeted by our tour operator who escorts you to the pre-booked hotel. Check into hotel and relax for the rest of the day. Overnight at hotel.

Next morning, we set out to explore Ahmedabad. The places we visit during the Ahmedabad city tour include Calico museum of textiles, Vishala village complex and Sarkhej mausoleum. At Calico museum of textiles you can see a vast array of rare textiles and art works of great historic value. At Vishala village complex, you may get introduced to the rustic charm of an authentic Gujarati village and get to taste authentic Gujarati food. At the complex of Sarkhej Roza or Sarkhej mausoleum, you will get to see a unique fusion of the royal, religious and social realms. Post sightseeing, we’ll be back to hotel for dinner and night stay.

Next day post breakfast we’ll depart for Jambughoda; a 3hrs drive from Ahmedabad. On reaching we’ll check into hotel and later proceed for a safari tour of the Jambughoda wildlife sanctuary. This wildlife sanctuary used to be the private hunting ground of the Jambughoda prince once upon a time. Today it is home to many exotic bird as well as animal species such as blue bull, sloth bear, four horned antelopes, wild boars, jackals, leopards etc and during your safari tour you can catch a glimpse of some of these. Post safari we’ll return to hotel for dinner and night stay.

Next day we’ll undertake an excursion to Chota Udaipur, an erstwhile princely state of Gujarat. On reaching Chhota Udaipur, a town with a quaint old world charm, we’ll proceed to visit places like Shoolpaneshwar wildlife sanctuary and the nearby tribal villages such as Kevdi, Bodeli, Bhabar etc. By visiting these villages you’ll get to communicate with the locals, view their authentic, tribal lifestyle and crafts from close. Post excursion, we return to our hotel at Jambughoda for dinner and night stay.

Next day after breakfast we hit the road for Uthelia en route Champaner-Pavagadh, a UNESCO accredited world heritage site and a unique archaeological park consisting in several architectural marvels of both Hindu as well as Islamic origin. The places we visit at Champaner include Kalika temple, Champaner fort, Jama Masjid, Kevada mosque, Jain temples. After Champaner sightseeing we head straight to Uthelia. On reaching we check into hotel for dinner and night stay.

After breakfast, we set out to visit the famed excavation site of Lothal; a part of the Harappan civilization dating back to 2000BCE. Lothal had been a busy commercial hub in the Harappan era and ruined vestiges of the past can still be seen in Lothal. After our Lothal visit we’ll drive down to Bhavnagar, a historical town that came into being in the year 1724. Bhavnagar is also a notable cultural hub of Gujarat. On reaching, we’ll check into hotel and later proceed to visit the famous Barton museum of Bhavnagar. Evening is left free for you to stroll in the local markets and shop souvenirs. Post shopping return to hotel for dinner and night stay.

This morning post breakfast, we’ll make an excursion to Palitana; a distinguished Jain pilgrimage destination consisting in near about 863 marble made Jain temples atop the Shatrunjaya Hills. People of the Jain community believe that visiting Palitana is a must in order to attain moksha or spiritual salvation. Most of the Palitana Jain temples date back to an era between 11th and 20th century. Post excursion, we return to hotel at Bhavnagar for dinner and night stay.

Post breakfast, we hit the road for the historical city of Gondal located at a distance of about 180kms. On reaching Gondal, check into hotel and later proceed to visit the highly ornate 17th-century old palace; the Naulakha palace featuring beautiful architecture with richly carved balconies. After visiting Naulakha palace, we proceed to visit the exquisite vintage car museum consisting in an amazing collection of rare automobiles belonging to Gondal’s royal family. In this collection, we will get to view cars like Mercedes dating back to 1935, Daimler dating back to the 1920’s, Delage dating back to the 1920’s, new engine of 1910, 2 door convertible Packard of 1935 etc. Post visit, we’ll return back to hotel for dinner and night stay.

Post breakfast, we proceed from Wankaner, an erstwhile princely state. En route we visit one of the largest museums of Gujarat; the Watson museum and the Rashtriya Shala; a museum exhibiting a vast array of souvenirs and relics associated with India’s struggle for freedom. After visiting these two destinations we head straight to Wankaner and check into hotel on reaching. Later proceed for sightseeing of Wankaner and visit few local Gujarati villages plus the royal Wankaner palace now a museum open to public visit. Overnight in the hotel.

Post breakfast return to Ahmadabad and proceed for a short sightseeing tour visiting places like Swaminarayan temple, Bhadra Fort, Sabarmati ashram. Post sightseeing and dinner on the way, you’ll be dropped at Ahmadabad railway station/airport where our tour operator bids you adieu and you proceed for your onward journey back home.
