Trekking up till Gaumukh glacier is among one of the most popular treks among avid trekkers and outdoor adventure enthusiasts. This glacier is not only the source for the holy river Ganga but it is also the 2nd largest glacier in India which is situated at a height of 13,200 feet above sea level in the Garhwal Himalayan region of Uttarkashi district in Devbhoomi, Uttarakhand. The trek is of moderate difficulty with Gangotri Dham being the prime center of attraction for most trekkers.

Gangotri Gaumukh Trekking Tour Itinerary
Day 1 :Arrival in Delhi
Once you reach Delhi and are greeted by our tour representative you will be transferred to your allotted hotel in Delhi, where you will be checked in for an overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2 :Delhi – Haridwar – Rishikesh
You will be made to leave for Haridwar early in the morning, be sure to wake up early in order to leave and reach Haridwar in time. Upon your arrival in Haridwar you will be immediately checked in to your hotel there for an overnight stay. By the evening time you will be free to explore this holy town on your own. You can stroll through the nearby colorful and vibrant market places.
Day 3 :Rishikesh – Uttarkashi
Early in the morning post breakfast, you will be meeting our tour representative who will be transferring you to Uttarkashi via Chamba and Tehri which is covered in 5 to 6 hours. Once you arrive at Uttarkashi you will be made to check in to your hotel for an overnight stay. Your evening at Uttarkashi is free for you to do your leisurely activities on your own.
Day 4 :Uttarkashi – Gangotri
Early in the morning after witnessing a glorious sun rise you will be driven towards Gangotri. This drive goes via the picturesque valley of Harsil and the entire journey covers a distance of 4 to 5 hours. Once you reach Gangotri you will be immediately checked in to your hotel where you will be spending the night. After relaxing and freshening up for a while you will be taken to the temple for a holy darshan of the seat of Goddess Ganga which is also a part of the holy Chardham Yatra of Uttarakhand.
Day 5 :Gangotri – Bhojwassa
Your trekking expedition towards Bhojwassa (12,440 feet) will begin early in the morning which you will be taken via Chirbasa. This entire trekking route is lined with tall trees and by the gushing waters of river Bhagirathi. Once you cross over Chirbasa the terrain starts becoming increasingly barren, like an Arctic Tundra. You will keep trekking onwards till Bhojwassa, passing through dense and thick forest cover. Once you reach Bhojwassa you will be setting up your tents where you will be spending the night.
Day 6 :Bhojwassa – Gaumukh – Bhojwassa
You will be waking up to the sight of the group of majestic peaks of Bhagirathi. After having your breakfast your trekking journey to Gaumukh – the source of river Ganga will commence, which is situated at a height of 12,760 feet above sea level and at a distance of 14 km. You will be given time to explore the surrounding and nearby areas before heading back to your camp site at Bhojwassa for an overnight stay.
Day 7 :Bhojwassa – Gangotri – Uttarkashi
After having your breakfast early in the morning your trek down to Gangotri will commence which is a journey of 4 to 5 hours. From where you will be driven till Uttarkashi, which will be a journey of 3 to 4 hours. Upon your arrival at Uttarkashi, you will be immediately checked in to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 8 :Uttarkashi – Haridwar – Delhi
Post breakfast, early in the morning you will be driven to Haridwar which will be via Rishikesh. Once you arrive at Haridwar you will then be safely transferred to your railway station where you will be made to head on towards Delhi. You will be arriving at Delhi after covering a journey of 4 to 5 hours and once you reach Delhi you will be received by our tour representative who will transfer you to your allotted hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 9 :Delhi Departure
You will be transferred to your desired departure destination in due time by our tour representatives which will mark the conclusion of your trip with us.
