2) Agra Fort

The red sandstone structure which was also constructed by Shah Jehan himself and stands majestically right next to the Taj Mahal. It had served as the Mughal seat of power during the reign of Mughals. This semi-circular fort complex is richly decorated and replete with ancient historical sites and structures.

3) Akbar Tomb

This tomb of the legendary Mughal emperor is known for its architectural marvel and a stunning mark of the creativity that thrived during that era. The tomb was built during 1604 – 1613 and is spread out over an area of a lush green 119 acres of land in Sikandra. Although the construction was commenced by Akbar it was completed by his son Jehangir after his death.

4) Moti Masjid

Again, this place was built by the great architect of the Mughals – Shah Jahan and has earned its name from the pearly white structure. It was built with the aim of providing a mosque for members of his royal court. The structure consists of magnificent bulbous domes while being surrounded by red sandstone walls. It is a remarkable architectural masterpiece of the Mughal era.

5) Panch Mahal

Located at a distance of almost an hour from Agra this is a 5 level palace and was commissioned by Akbar. The structure is still a sight to behold and stands close to the Zenana quarters which was used for entertainment and relaxation purposes by the king. This is one of the most extraordinary and important buildings in Fatehpur Sikri.
